Officials with the Environmental Protection Agency are expected to speak with the Grenada City Council Monday.
A special-called meeting is set for 6 p.m. at City Hall in which the EPA will discuss the recent discovery of toxins inside a manufacturing plant on Highway 333.
“This will be a called meeting where the city council will discuss items,” City Manger Trey Baker said. “The EPA will be there to give the council an update on the current situation out there.”
Last week, the EPA announced that TCE, a cancer-causing vapor, exists inside the Grenada Manufacturing, LLC, (Grenada Stamping) building at rates exceeding the federal action level.
